    March Church News

  • The Woman’s Neighborhood Center Service Days will be the second and fourth Wednesday of the month for anyone that is interested in coming out. We will be meeting at Faith Hall at 11:00 A.M.  Please note however, this month (March), the service days will be the third and fifth Wednesday.  If there is anyone interested in this wonderful project, please contact Linda Fuscia or Kass Amoroso.

  • Thank you to Mary Maslowski for the awesome chicken soup for week #1 of the Lent study.  If you are available, come out for lunch and study each Sunday of Lent after 11:15 service.

  • The Church has voted to expand the parsonage at a cost not to exceed $100,000.  The building Committee is in place and already considering designs and an architect.  The conference has given its approval and we are progressing full steam ahead.  Our hope is to complete the project by late fall.

  • On Monday, March 8th at 7:30 P.M., there will be a Blue Prayer service held at St. Mary's Church for all police, firefighters and EMT's in our area.  It is our way of thanking these courageous men and women for their service.  It is being sponsored by the ministerium and organized by Pastor Brian.  Your presence would be greatly appreciated.  If you are a member of one of these organizations, please consider coming out to be prayed for and honored.  Thank you.

  • On the 4th Sunday of each month for the next several months, Marguerite Sprengle will be sharing with us in worship some of the history of the stained glass windows in our church.  We look forward to hearing all about the past as we continue to move on to the future.  Thank you Marguerite for all of your hard work and service!

  • Once again, major kudos to everyone who has been working so hard on the Lent devotional this year.  Great job by Julie Guenther for organizing and all those who have helped her in any way.  We are so blessed!

  • Basic Lay Speaker Classes for the Spring of 2010 are now available.  For more information, click here.

  One Great Hour of Sharing

The mission offering for March will go to “One Great Hour of Sharing”, a special offering that Methodists around the world participate in.  Your gifts to this cause underwrites UMCOR'S "cost of doing business".  This offering assures that 100% of every other dollar given to a designated program goes directly to that program.  This is also the only fund UMCOR uses to support local disasters that do not receive an "advance number".  Any money received above and beyond what is needed for these expenses, is then channeled to those in greatest need.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Pastor Brian or Karen Johnson about this offering.

  On-going Mission Needs:

We are collecting cans of tuna for the Camden Neighborhood Center and hand towels for the health kits going to UMCOR (with a 20% off coupon you can get 7 hand towels for $8 at Bed, Bath & Beyond).

  On-going Mission Fundraisers:

  • WaWa Hoagie tickets are being sold for $4.00 to raise money for missions (most WaWa's will accept them for $4 off any deli sandwich).

  • Shop Rite and Acme gift cards are available, cash and carry, see Shirley or Dawn Jennings.
